This is the new exhibit coming to the ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington, VT starting January 18th! Check out a new way of teaching young children science and math!

Alice's Wonderland is an interactive exhibit based on Lewis Carroll's classic,Alice's Adventure in Wonderland offering over 1,500 square feet of hands-on experiences to explore!

Encouraging curiosity and wonder, Alice's Wonderland takes children -- and adults alike -- on a journey that makes the unknown more familiar, maybe even logical, and most certainly fun. Throughout the exhibit, visitors are reminded of the story by quotes from the original book and "encounters" with some of the tale's famous characters.

New Year 2014

Hello Everyone,

The New Year 2014 is upon us and now it is time to get together to discuss all events, work, etc. that is museum related.  I would like to see many people in the New England area starting to get active in promoting our rich history, science, art and agricultural museums!!!! What can we do to get started?

Museum Network in the State of Vermont

I have started this blog in the hopes that it will spark interest in other museum professionals around the state of Vermont to share their stories, information, employment search and other facts to help each other navigate the museum field in this area.  The goal is to start a dialogue on merging a network of people from around the state that will meet in Burlington, Vermont or Montpelier, VT once every two months to discuss their findings and help others in the museum field with their work.  I have been searching for a network for a while and haven't been able to find one.

The main points of each meeting would be to help museum professionals grow in the community to :

A. Create employment

B. Have fun and share in each other's work

C. To help fundraise and care for our historical, art, science and other museums in the state of Vermont

D. Each subject or theme of a museum seems to have a small network of people. I thought if people came together to have a greater network it might be easier to share the museums with the general public

E. Another main focus might be to get the general public more interested in all museums in the state

G. To have a free museum weekend throughout the state in the summer time where museums would open their doors for free or accept donations only. (Vermont Days has some museums and state parks open for free in June however this could be all museums) If you are interested in what Vermont Days is here is the link : http://www.vermontdays.com/
